Huzoor Mufti e Azam Hind RadiAllahu Anhu was asked regarding the Tie:
Zayd is a Sunni Muslim who wears the Tie and his four brothers also wear the Tie, Zayd has a high-ranking job and his brothers also have high-ranking jobs.
Zayd’s wedding takes place and at that time he does not wear the Tie however his brothers are wearing the Tie. One scholar, who says to wear the Tie is Kufr, attends Zayd’s wedding, eats the food at the wedding, and also performs Zayd’s Nikah. Meanwhile, his brothers were present at the Nikah while wearing Ties.
Now, is it Haraam to eat food with Zayd, and that scholar, while knowing that to wear the Tie is Kufr, performed the Nikah, participated in the wedding, and also ate the food, what is the ruling of the Shariat upon him? Please inform of the correct answer.
Huzoor Mufti e Azam Hind RadiAllahu Anhu replied:
To wear the Tie is a serious Haraam, it is a symbol of the Kuffaar, of bad consequences, is a very bad deed, it is an open rejection of the Word of the Lord, Dhul Jalali wal Ikraam.
The Tie serves as a reminder for the Christians of their false belief regarding Hazrat Sayyiduna Maseeh عليه الصلاة والسلام being crucified and becoming the ransom for all Christians والعياذ بالله تعالى . Every Christian keeps the Tie around his neck and in every hat, he keeps the symbol of the Cross, which he calls the Cross mark, just like the Tie, this Cross mark is also a rejection of the Qur’an
The Quran states:
“The Jews did not kill Eesa Maseeh, nor did they crucify him.” [Surah An-Nisa 4:157]
However, the ignorant ones are unaware of this reality, they merely consider it a fashion and for this reason they shall not be called Kafirs for wearing it. Statements and actions being Kufr is one matter and to declare the doer as a Kafir is another matter.

The one who wears the Tie, wears the hat and every Fasiq Mu’lin is from the Zaalimeen and Allah عزوجل states:
وَإِمَّا يُنسِيَنَّكَ الشَّيْطَانُ فَلَا تَقْعُدْ بَعْدَ الذِّكْرَىٰ مَعَ الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ
“And if the Shaytan causes you to forget, then do not sit with the Zalimeen after remembering.” [Surah Al-An’aam 6:68]
Arif Billah, Mulla Ahmad Jeewan, the Ustadh of Sultan Alamgir رضی المولی تعالی عنا وعنہ states in Tafsirat Ahmadiyyah:
الظالمین یعم الفاسق والمبتدع والکافر
“Zalimeen refers to the Fasiq, the Mubtadi and the Kafir.”
With whom sitting with is forbidden, eating and drinking with them is prohibited even more strongly than sitting with them and it is necessary for the Ulama to avoid such things even more.
